Registration for AbGradCon 2019 is now open until May 5th. Acceptance emails to AGC and PWR have gone out with details on how to register. If you have applied, and did not recieve any notice please contact us.
Application deadlines for AbGradCon 2019 and the Proposal Writing Retreat have been extended to April 1st, 2019.
The Astrobiology Graduate Student Conference 2019 is now accepting submissions from undergraduates who would like to participate in the undergraduate poster conference. Posters should focus on a topic that touches on astrobiology such as (but not limited to) prebiotic chemistry, exoplanet detection, environmental microbiology of Earth analogs for other planets, and early evolution of life. Submissions should be sent as a single take video with slides proposing the topic being addressed, how it relates to astrobiology, a synopsis of past work (if pertinent), and results with discussion. Videos should consist of no more than 6 slides and be no more than 5 minutes in length and 500MB or less. Submitters are welcome to use screen capture recording for their presentation with audio on top using something like OBS (Open Broadcasting Software). The winner of the contest will be provided with full support to present a poster on their topic at the Astrobiology Graduate Student Conference 2019 in Salt Lake City. On behalf of the AbGradCon 2019 Organizing Committee, I'm excited to announce that AbGradCon 2019 will be hosted by the University of Utah from July 22nd - 26th, 2019. This year's theme will be Science Communication! Applications will open in January, with a deadline on March 15th, 2019.
The Proposal Writing Retreat (PWR), formerly known as the Research Focus Group (RFG), will take place at from July 19th - 22nd, 2019. Applicants for AbGradCon will be able to apply for PWR at the same time as they submit their AbGradCon application. We have funds to support a limited number of participants, although we can accommodate more participants if they are able to provide some or all of their own funding.
Please check back with the website regularly for announcements including the abstract submission deadline, additional details on the PWR, and info on the Undergraduate Poster Competition.
